Have you ever had an encounter with someone that totally caught you off guard? Did it make you wonder what they might have going on in their life? There must be some reason they chose to say, act, and compose themselves like they did, right?
I had an encounter like this when I volunteered at my son’s school. He had a teacher that must have been going through a lot in her life because I can’t imagine why else she would pick to show up the way she did.
Observing her made me stop, pause, and reflect.
The truth: You get to choose which character you want to be. You get to choose how you show up in every situation of your life.
So which character did you choose today?
Here are five questions to ask yourself to find out:
Which character did you choose to be when you woke up this morning? (You know the different “Jenns” you rotate through.) Which one was it this morning?
How do you choose to show up every day?
What do you carry into each day?
What do you carry into each situation in your day? The grocery store? The school? The gym?
When people meet me what is their perception of you?
Intentionally checking in with yourself will help you show up better every day.
Take time and notice the roles you play in life!
