As we travel during this Everest training expedition, the more I go outward the more it inspires me to go inward. I woke up thinking about how, I’m in Nepal, and the people here are driving on the “wrong” (or left) side of the road. Then I thought to myself, why am I assigning the side the Nepalese drive on as the “wrong” side? Why am I assuming we in the USA drive on the “right” side of the road? Taking a pause to just dwell on that thought today allowed me to question where else in my life I might be calling things “right” or “wrong”, when really there are different ways of doing things successfully in life for all of us.

My challenge for you today is to spend some time with your head to consider if there are areas in your life that you are calling “wrong” or “right” instead of “different”. “Different” allows an opening of space and “right” or “wrong” ends the discussion in a finite and sharp way. Where can we reconsider. Or, if we don’t have the ability to get out of the right/wrong dichotomy, where else in life could we just hold more space open to observe?

My guess is that we can all rediscover and harness a new depth of curiosity.
