My daily routine really starts the night before. I have my 6 Most Important things I need to get done the next day ready and listed out. I have my workout clothing set out for whatever activities I have planned the next day. I run through my calendar the night prior to see if I missed anything. If there is anything I can do to make the next morning better, I figure out how to do it.
I set my alarm clock for 6:00am. I am a morning person by nature, so when the alarm goes off, I am up and ready to go. The kids start to wake up around 6:30am. I have found that about 30 minutes to myself before they wake up is perfect. My world is quiet, I’m peaceful, and that’s the energy I bring to them and to my day.
If I have any thoughts or dreams that I remember, I either voice memo them or quickly jot them down in my journal. I find that early morning thoughts, often carrying over from my dreams, offer up a lot to chew on. It’s also my least judgmental part of the day when I can observe what my subconscious might be working on.
I jump in the shower quickly to wake up, brush my teeth, and then get dressed. On my bathroom mirror I keep a list of my affirmations and/or goals. I will read them first thing and then a few times a day. I keep my goals pinned there because I can see them easily and frequently, keeping them top of mind throughout the day.
Midday and evening, I check in and consider if my actions line up with my intentions. If not, I can modify my day and attitude to get back on track. If so, I give myself an internal pat on the back and onward we go.
My morning routine stays the same every day. It helps keep me grounded and present and allows me to reconnect with who I am before I go out into the day.
