The habits we create shape our daily lives. Most people believe if you start a habit for several weeks to a month, it will stick as a regular part of your routine. Habits can turn into a consistent pattern, so it is instrumental in making them positive and powerful. Our habits can design how we begin, shape, and end the day. If you are wanting to implement powerful habits into your life today, let’s explore ways you transition your habits into an influential and inspiring routine.

Start your days off on a positive note.

Setting the tone for your day in a positive way is an important habit to start. Whether you start your days off with a cup of coffee or a quality breakfast, I recommend developing a peaceful practice to start your day. Others often ask me how I find the time to start my day off being a mom of 7 children. For me, I genuinely enjoy waking up at least 30 minutes or so before my children to allow myself some much needed “me time” to start my day. Being a mom of 7 kids is so rewarding, but it limits my personal time for myself often. Therefore, I started this habit, which has had a powerful impact on starting my days off on a positive footing. It helps me truly set the intention and allow myself some quiet time for me to start my days.

Develop an impactful nightly wind-down routine.

While beginning your day on a positive note is a powerful habit to add to your routine, sometimes the day’s tasks can pull you back down from the positive start of the day. That does not mean that it was a good or bad day, but the reality is life can get busy, and a positive start of the day may not always stick with us by the end of the day. For this reason, it is also highly effective to develop a habit of a nightly routine for yourself. For myself, I enjoy taking the time at the end of the day to journal about my day. Journaling allows me to document my day and enables me to reflect and express gratitude on the day. Even if you enjoy taking the time to implement a nightly skincare routine, or journal like myself, creating that powerful habit can create a more significant impact and appreciation on your day or week.

Check in on your habits and their impact regularly.

Reflecting back on how powerful habits can shape your day and your life, you will also want to ensure you have time to review their impact on you. Ideally, ask yourself how these habits have had a more significant impact in your everyday life, whether weekly, monthly, quarterly or even just annually. Also, regularly ask yourself if these habits are helping you set yourself up for better long-term success towards your goals or not. If they are, keep doing them as they are providing an impact on your life. If not, then contemplate what habits need to be changed or how you can alter them to provide a more positive and powerful impact in your life.
